As mentioned in our previous newsletter, after 2.5 years of conciliation and bargaining, Unit B and McGill finally came to an agreement on a Collective Agreement in December. However, when the final draft was brought to McGill Administration (which was supposed to be a formality, according to the McGill negotiators), they voted down the agreement and backed out. Floor Fellows are not going to take this lying down. Rather, Floor Fellows are going to take this to court.
Our PSAC-provided lawyer has filed a motion in Superior Court on behalf of Floor Fellows. Specifically, it is an injunction to get Floor Fellows paid ASAP. This is an individual recourse, meaning that in order to be represented in court, you must agree to allow the lawyer to represent you.
