1. Coffee Break this Tuesday: how will the budget cuts impact you?

if your hours are cut;
your position is terminated;
your contract is ending.

Where: SSMU Building (3480 rue McTavish) in the Madeline Parent Room
When: Tuesday, July 2nd, 11am to 3pm.

We’ll be available to answer any questions you have about the union, your working conditions, McGill’s budget cuts, etc!

We’ll have coffee and bagels, so you can enjoy a snack while you talk with us. We’ll have vegan options for food, and feel free to contact us about other dietary needs!

Hope to see you there!

2. CA Spotlight: ID Cards

CA Spotlight: Are you an AMUSE member that currently does not have a McGill ID card or access card? Do you wish to have one?

AMUSE and McGill have agreed on a temporary measure that will accommodate our members without IDs until the provision of permanent access cards to AMUSE members becomes possible. Read about how to get one here.

3. AMUSE Equity Policy

The AMUSE Equity Committee has drafted an equity policy for the union. Before this document becomes official policy, we encourage our members to read the current draft and, if they have anything to add or critique, to contact us at [email protected]. The draft of the equity policy can be found here.

The AMUSE Equity Committee deals with a variety of equity issues, from working on an internal policy to providing a forum for questions and complaints from members on matters of Pay Equity, Employment Equity, and equity issues in the workplace as a whole. If you are interested in participating in this committee please contact the president at [email protected].

4. Sign the Petition: No Job Cuts on McGill’s Campus!

Are you frustrated by McGill’s decision to cut jobs on campus? Do you want to express your displeasure with how the current administration is handling the budget crisis? If so, you might be interested in signing a petition, created by MUNACA, condemning job cuts on campus. The petition can be found here.
