As you may know, part-time casual employees are divided in our Collective Agreement (article 22.03) into 3 groups, informatively named A, B, and C. The minimum hourly rates for employees thus classified are $10.35, $11.11, and $12.12.
If you’re making $10.35/hr, you are classified as Group A. Would you say that this adequately describes the difficulty of your position?
“few tasks, complexity low, little autonomy, minimal experience required”
If not, would you say your position fits better in to Class B?
“several tasks, moderate complexity, relative autonomy, moderate experience required”
.. or Class C?
“many tasks, high complexity, great level of autonomy, high experience required”
If you’re not sure, or feel you are being mis-classified, please arrange to have your position re-evaluated by getting in touch with our Labour Relations Officer, Agatha, at [email protected]. Send us a short description of your job and a copy of your pay stub, and we might be able to get your rate of pay up to an appropriate level.
