Inter-Union Council Movie Night

Le Conseil des Syndicats à McGill est heureux d’offrir une invitation à une autre soirée cinéma, le vendredi 7 septembre, 2012, au bureau d’AMUSE et AMURE situé au 2015 Drummond, salle 901. Les portes ouvrent à 18h30, et le film commencera à 19h pile.

Cette semaine, le film est au sujet d’un groupe d’étudiants de premier cycle en science politique à McGill. « Occupation » suit leur lutte afin de maintenir une grève et une occupation prolongée du quatrième étage de l’immeuble Stephen Leacock en 1970. Le film offre une vue intime de l’action étudiante, suivant de très proche les étudiants tandis qu’ils se mettent en grève, et débattent, occupent et négocient avec le département au sujet du contrôle des étudiants sur l’embauche des membres de la faculté.

Cette session fait partie d’une série de soirées cinéma sur les conditions de travail, la lutte syndicale et l’université. Des rafraîchissements seront servis, et le film sera suivi d’une discussion informelle. McGill Inter-Union Council is pleased to extend an open invitation to another movie night on Friday, September 7th, 2012 at the AMUSE/AMURE office at 2015 Drummond, suite #901. Doors open at 6:30, film begins at 7pm sharp.

This week’s film is about a group of McGill Political Science undergraduates as they struggle to maintain a strike and a prolonged occupation of the 4th floor of the Stephen Leacock building in 1970. “Occupation” offers an intimate view of student action, getting close up as the students strike classes, debate, sit-in, and eventually negotiate with the department over the issue of student control over the hiring of faculty.
