[AMUSE Newsletter] Steward Training Day Saturday; ID Cards; Office Hours

October 2nd, 2014
(le français suit)

Hey Team,

So glad we got to see so many of you at the BBQ last week, and we hope you had a great meal and some great conversations! As always, don’t forget to fill out full-time or part-time bargaining surveys, as they really help us know what you need from our next Collective Agreement! Also, baby animals being cute!

Steward Training Date - October 4th, 2014

Have you ever wanted to get more involved in AMUSE? Do you want to learn how to advocate for your coworkers and yourself? AMUSE is holding a Steward Training Day this Saturday, October 4th from 9:00-5:00 in the AMUSE office. The training will cover basic labour history, AMUSE history, PSAC structure; grievance handling and steward responsibilities; a Collective Agreement read-through; and workplace mobilization. Breakfast and lunch will be provided and you will be paid at your McGill rate for the time you are there. If you are interested, please register by emailing Fiona at [email protected].

Temporary ID Cards

Are you an AMUSE member that currently does not have a McGill ID card or access card? Haven’t asked to receive one yet?Don’t forget that AMUSE and McGill have recently agreed on a temporary measure that will accommodate our members without IDs until the provision of permanent access cards to AMUSE members becomes possible. Read about how to get one here.
