1. AMUSE 5 à 7 and Film Screening this Thursday
To kick off the Winter Film Series and to celebrate our 3 year anniversary, AMUSE is holding a 5 à 7 on Thursday, January 24th at our office at 2015 rue Drummond, #901! Come by for refreshments, food, door prizes, and to meet your union representatives and coworkers starting at 5:00 pm. Film screening beginning at 7:00 pm sharp!
We will be screening the documentary “Finally Got the News” (1970, 55 min.) A compelling documentary about the League of Revolutionary Black Workers in the auto factories of Detroit.
All are welcome! We hope to see you there. Check out the Facebook event !
2. Annual General Meeting – Thursday, January 31st in Leacock 232 at 6 pm
The AMUSE Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 31st at 6:00 pm in the Leacock Building, room 232. Come early (beginning at 5:30 pm) for coffee, food, to meet your union reps, and ask questions.
The AGM is held at the beginning of every year and is an opportunity for all members to check in on what the union has been up to for the past year, vote on motions, and elect your new representatives (or run for a position!). All executive and steward positions are up for election.
3. Union Training Day - Saturday, February 2nd at the AMUSE office
We will be holding a day of workshops at the beginning of February with our parent organization, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). Topics covered will include Steward responsibilities, reading and interpreting our Collective Agreement, and grievance training.
If you are interested in getting involved with the union then this is a great introduction. This training day will be held after the Annual General Meeting and is therefore a great opportunity for any newly elected Stewards! Please send your RSVP or any questions to Amber Gross (at [email protected]) as soon as possible.
4. The AMUSE Guidebook & Collective Agreement
We welcome all new union members and invite you to familiarize yourself with the AMUSE Collective Agreement and the AMUSE Guidebook which are available on our website, in English and French.
