[Update] New Wage Minimums!

cat1Well, it’s finally pay day, and I hope you’re enjoying your biweekly spoils as much as this spectacular cat enjoys theirs. We just wanted to let you know that there have been a couple of changes in AMUSE pay rates that you should watch out for!

New Minimum Wage = $10.65

On May 1st, the Quebec minimum wage went up to $10.55. According to Article 22.08 of our Collective Agreement, minimum wage for AMUSE employees also went up on this date, to stay 10 cents above that provincial number. That means that **every casual employee should now be earning at least $10.65 per hour.** Take a look at your most recent pay stub to make sure this has been calculated correctly for you. More info on finding and reading your pay stub can be found here. Please contact us if you see a lower rate on your pay stub this week.

New Replacement Worker Wages

On June 1st, rates of pay went up for all permanent support employees in the MUNACA union. This means that the rates of pay for all AMUSE employees working in replacement positions defined under MUNACA’s collective agreement WILL ALSO BE GOING UP! However, the change won’t appear on this week’s pay cheque - you should see the increase in two weeks.

Check out the new scales here.

Remember that if you are working in a MUNACA-defined replacement position for more than six months (Group 1), you will be getting 100% of the new pay scale, but if you are working for less than six months (Group 2), you get 80% of that number. Feel free to contact us if you don’t know which of these categories you fit into.
